Throughout my time in college I have completed two major internships that have both left me with priceless experience and knowledge you cannot find outside of getting hands on work experience. I hope you will enjoy reading about my work.
Assistant to the Director of Community Engagement
l'Association Gammes
During my time abroad in Montpellier, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to intern for l’Association Gammes, a group of volunteers and employees aiming to improve the lives of people in need living in and around the city. I was the assistant to the director of community engagement and my role consisted of assisting weekly at a low-income housing community, dedicating my time to fostering engagement within an otherwise isolated community. I organized a series of events aimed at connecting residents and stimulating creativity across all age groups. These initiatives not only encouraged social interaction but also provided a platform for individuals and families to express their aspirations and discuss challenges openly. By establishing a safe environment for these conversations, I contributed to the development of a stronger sense of community and facilitated meaningful connections among the residents. This internship truly gave me the opportunity to connect with the local people of Montpellier and be able to hear about their experiences living in the city. By the time my internship came to an end, I was sad to say goodbye to the families I had made such deep connections with, wishing them all a bright future.
Over summer 2023, I held an internship position at Wayfair LLC in their Boston, MA office. Specifically, I worked in the company’s CastleGate Forwarding branch which was their in-house logistics network. Throughout my time at Wayfair, I served as a pivotal member of the FMC Compliance & Oversight team, where I adeptly managed a high volume of 2,000+ supplier contracts every month. My role required seamless collaboration with various departments, including sales, drayage, and ocean carrier teams, enabling us to proactively address and mitigate challenges in the contracting process. I took the initiative to organize informal meetings with colleagues, fostering a deeper understanding of individual roles and responsibilities within the organization. Through these experiences, I not only honed my contract management skills but also enhanced my ability to work collaboratively and build meaningful professional relationships. I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to work at Wayfair and feel as though this experience has allowed me to grow a lot as a young professional preparing to enter the corporate world.
